We would like to thank Pat Cassidy, outgoing Chairperson, and fellow outgoing officers for their time and dedication throughout the last five years, with some fantastic achievements along the way.

Dinner Dance
In February we held a wonderful banquet to honour our winning teams of 2025, Intermediate Championship, Reserve Division 2 (2024) and Minor League Champions 2025 were all in attendance in the iconic Nuremore Hotel.
On the night, the inaugural Tony O’Kane and Seamus Kelly awards were presented. The Tony O’Kane award was given to Rosie Finnegan, our Juvenile Secretary, for her outstanding contributions over the last number of years. The Seamus Kelly award was given to Cathal McDermott for his contributions to the Development Committee, as he played a key role in the preparation of our new plans for the development of facilities in Platinum Tanks Park.
We look forward to the future of those awards, and we honour those who work tirelessly behind the scenes for the greater good of our club.
We would like to thank all our members, friends, family, those who sponsored our raffle prizes and special guests who attended on the night and made it a fantastic occasion for everyone involved.

Groundbreaking
In 2025 we launched a huge fundraising initiative in ‘Quid Games’, bringing all six clubs together: Football, LGFA, Hurling, Camogie, Rounders and Handball.
The success of this has brought us to the brink of breaking ground in PTP for the development of much needed new pitches to support our growing membership. Behind the scenes, our Development Committee are working hard to get our development started. Tenders have gone out for extensive groundworks, and we are hopeful to commence the earthworks by the end of May/beginning of June.
Hundreds of hours went into this project from the various committees, but without the support of our local businesses and members of our club near and far, this wouldn’t be achievable. We thank you all for your contributions and your continued support.
The new seeds sown will provide a brighter future for everyone involved. Carrickmacross Emmets is one of only three clubs in Ireland that cater for all codes of the GAA, and that provides many challenges for our Field Committee, so this development will be the most important in the history of our club.
All monies raised from Quid Games will be used for this new development only. We hope to provide more details in the next issue when hopefully we will be starting to break ground.

Club 400 / Lotto
Our Club 400 draw is in full swing and we recently held our third draw. You can tune in live (technology permitting!!) on Facebook for our draw every month. Big thanks to Niall, Karen, Jim, PK and Anita for their work on this project.
Our Lotto continues every week with our jackpot standing at €3100. As always, our Lotto committee of Jimmy Finnegan, Chrissy Higgins, Francie McGinn, Terry Kiernan and Tommy Kierans continue to work quietly behind the scenes to make sure our Lotto runs smoothly and efficiently.
You can buy our Lotto online or in most local shops where our stands are available.

Reserve Squad 2026
Our Senior Reserve team made the perfect start with two local wins from two, including a 3-08 to 0-11 win over Donaghmoyne.
This year we have added a second reserve team to cater for our growing numbers. If you are interested in playing for our club, please contact any member of our committee.

New Jersey Launch
Our new playing kit has arrived just in time for the new season, where sponsors held an official handover in Emmet Park to our new Captain Jack McGeown and Declan Lynch, before the senior league began.
We would like to thank four of our main sponsors who made this possible: Secure Systems (Main Sponsor), Clady Aggregates, W.L Electrical and McNally Centra.
Thank you also to Deery’s Bar and Lounge, KMR Accountants Ltd., Rafferty Ham (Juvenile Sponsor) and Platinum Tanks Ltd. for their continued support of our club for 2026 and beyond.

Pitch Updates
Our Field Committee have re-opened our pitches, which presented many ongoing challenges. Prolonged heavy rain has left conditions difficult and challenging to maintain.
We ask all our members to kindly take care of the pitches, and we hope for some brighter weather over the coming weeks. Pitches will undergo some maintenance over the next few months and we will update accordingly.
Thank you to the Field Committee for their ongoing maintenance of our pitches, and to all our coaches for your patience with a difficult start to our season.

Facilities Updates
A new scoreboard has been installed in Emmet Park on 25/03/26 under the Community Reconciliation Grant Scheme. Many thanks to Gordon, Paddy, Giles and Karen for this project, which is a welcome addition to Emmet Park.
A second scoreboard/community notice board has also been secured for PTP and we hope to have this installed later this summer.
Facilities have received a facelift with the main building power washed over St. Patrick’s weekend thanks to Gordon Finnegan and Ronan Kiernan. Entrance walls have been repainted, and the hedge has been removed on the old hatchery end. A new wall is currently being erected to allow building works commence and secure our site.
We intend to erect a ball stop on top of this wall in the future. Our stand will be fully washed in the coming weeks. New signage is in place around Emmet Park and PTP. New boot brushes have been installed in PTP along with improvements to the footpaths.
Both the Field and Facilities Committees are working hard on these projects, and while weather has delayed some work, we hope to complete everything soon.

One Era Comes to an End
The Juvenile pitch at the back of Emmet Park is now closed for housing development. With it goes many memories, but we were very grateful to have it over the years as it created a fantastic overflow for winter training and juvenile development. It will no doubt be missed.
